As a Tesla Certified Wall Connector installer, you can expect that your Wall Connector installation with Oregon Generators will meet Tesla’s standards for installation. We consider the various needs of our Tesla customers home charging needs.
Charging Overview
When charging your Tesla at home, you are using an alternating current (AC) charging. AC charging supplies power to the vehicle’s on-board charger which in turn converts the AC power to DC (direct current) allowing the battery to be charged. The size of the on-board charger restricts the amount of power that can be delivered to the battery.
Charging at Home
There are two types of charging levels that Tesla owners can use at home. Each level delivers different charging speeds and utilizes different charging solutions.
Level 1 charging is designed for your NEMA 5-15 outlets, your standard household outlet. These outlets have a lower voltage and are designed to be used with Tesla’s Mobile Connector cord. The charge time varies heavily, ranging from 6 hours to 50 hours to achieve a full charge depending on the remaining battery in your Tesla when you go to charge.
